We meet next week after a 5 week break where much has happened to impact our bargaining table. AFSCME and SEIU-DAS have settled their contracts with 10-14 days/year furloughs, 5% premium sharing on healthcare in exchange for COLAs in both years of their contracts and a step increase in the second year for employees on step system scheduled to go up a step. We are being told that this is the framework for the deal they anticipate with OUS bargaining units.
The SEIU-OUS table has not yet settled and they are attempting to pave the way down a different road based upon OUS's solid financial performance over the last 5 years.
